At the heart of our ethos in Loreto Beaufort is a sense of care, rooted in the strong relationships fostered within and beyond our school community. Since our founding in 1925, we have championed a dynamic, faith-based education for young women; enabling them to take their place in the world as local, national and global citizens who are set upon a path of life-long love of learning.
We work together as a community to ensure that each person feels valued, nurtured and respected. We offer a robust, academic and holistic education where each student is encouraged to reach her full potential regardless of ability; where each student’s spiritual, intellectual, moral, physical and social self is nurtured. We encourage all our students to be cognisant of their capacity for positive change with a responsibility and opportunity to equip themselves as 21st Century learners. Our dedicated staff offer our students a rigorous education rooted in care and complimented by a range of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, so that each learner reaches her full potential whatever her capacity and gifts. Our students are also encouraged, in the words of Sr Teresa Ball (1794 – 1861), to ‘seek truth…love what is good…(and) strive for excellence’.
Ours is an education filtered through the prism of the values of the founder of the Loreto Order Mary Ward (1585 – 1645) namely; justice, freedom, truth, sincerity and joy. And it is the centrality of faith to a Loreto education; that synthesis between faith and education, faith and culture, faith and justice that enables us to answer the Mary Ward call of ‘finding God in all things’.
