2025 was one of our most successful years of athletics in Beaufort! Our cross country runners started the year off with some very impressive performances with our minors winning gold and seniors winning bronze in the team events! We had a large number of athletes qualify for the Leinster’s and all ran extremely well in very competitive races.
In the All Ireland Loreto Athletics, Beaufort had a great day of fun and success in Santry. Well done to all our athletes who contributed both medals (20) and points for the school to help us finish 2nd in the overall Schools competition.
We had two very good days at the West Leinster track and field championships with a big medal haul, our minors winning best overall school and 8 of our athletes qualifying for the Leinster Championships.
Our athletes performed admirably in Tullamore in very hot conditions but a special congratulations must go to Aoibheann Nic Mhathuna who finished 2nd in the Junior Shot Putt thereby qualifying to represent Beaufort in the All Ireland Championships. We all wish Aoibheann the best of luck in the All Ireland’s on the 31st May.
