We are so excited about this years Mary Ward Week. The JPIC Committee, Ms. O’Sullivan and Ms. Delahoy have planned a full week of guest speakers and events that explore Human Rights. Thank you to our Ember Team and our Chaplain, Ms. O’Dwyer. They will be organising the Mary Ward film on Tuesday and Thoughts Of The Day throughout the week. Both committees have created beautiful displays. Thank you to all involved.
Some of the guest speakers include:
- Ambassador WahbaAbdalmajid, Palestine Ambassador to speak to TYs & 5thYears in Concert Hall about Human Rights, the experiences of Palestinian students and their difficulties in accessing or continuing education.
- Donal Brady Education Officer from The Peter McVerryTrust to speak about the topic the homeless situation at the moment in Dublin.
- Anthony Hannon from Loreto Education Trust to speak to first years about Girl’s education and empowerment in South Sudan, fighting human trafficking in Albania and education and empowerment with migrant workers in Africa.
