Our 2021 / 2022 Fifth Year History students went on a guided 1916 tour of the G.P.O Witness Museum and tot the National Museum of Ireland, Decorative Arts & History, Collins Barracks to see the Temporary Studio and State Exhibition.
“This exhibition features for the first time Sir John Lavery’s paintings of the Treaty signatories from Hugh Lane Gallery next to contemporary artefacts of the time from the National Museum of Ireland’s collection. Museum objects include the fountain pen reputedly used by Michael Collins to sign the original Treaty document and propaganda handbills.” Source: https://www.museum.ie/en-IE/Museums/Decorative-Arts-History/Exhibitions/Studio-State.
