We recently launched the PARSEEK study. It is a study that looks at parents’ and young peoples’ mental health literacy. We are currently recruiting parents of teenagers (aged 10-19) to participate (https://bit.ly/PARSEEKstudy).
To coincide with the launch of the study the Youth Mental Health Lab UCD in conjunction with YouLead have organised a series of webinars for parents, teachers and youth workers. The theme of the webinars is supporting young people’s well-being. The talks will run on Monday evenings from 7pm-8pm starting the 26th April.
. Monday April 26th 7pm-8pm: “Promoting positive mental health in young people”. This talk will be given by Professor Eilis Hennessy, Developmental Psychologist from the School of Psychology University College Dublin.
. Monday May 10th 7pm-8pm: “Managing school stress”. This talk will be provided by Dr Elizabeth Charles, Senior Educational Psychologist from NEPS (National Educational Psychology Service).
. Monday May 17th 7pm-8pm: “How to talk to a young person about how they are feeling”. Panel Discussion with clinical psychologists Dr Tony Bates, Dr Charlotte Wilson (TCD) & Professor Gary Donohue (NUIG). There will also be young people on the panel to give their perspective.
. Monday May 24th 7pm-8pm: “Compassion based approaches for supporting young people”. This talk will be given by Dr Ciara Mahon, Postdoctoral research fellow from the School of Psychology UCD.
