Dear Parents / Guardians,
For safety reasons this year, the Christmas exams for 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th years will not be held in the usual large exam centres and it will not be possible to hold subject exams at the same time in our traditional manner. Instead students will be timetabled for their exams in their own classrooms within their current timetable. While we realise that this is not ideal, it ensures that there is as little mixing of teachers, pupils and paper as possible and the class-teacher bubbles maintained.
The exams start properly on Monday, the 14th of December. There will be a small number of exams in the week previous (Monday 7th to Friday 11th December) with study periods before those exams timetabled but during that week classes will otherwise continue as normal.
From Monday 14th December students will only attend school if they are timetabled for an exam or if they have a study period between two exams, this again is to keep our school as safe as possible during the exam period.
When you look at the exam timetable it will have one of the following three possibilities for each class period.
An exam: The exam will be held in the classroom the student normally goes to for that class period.
A study period: Students who need to remain in the school between two exams will go to the classroom that they would normally go to for that class period and study for their next exam.
A blank space: There is no exam and no study period which means that the student is not in school for that class period for safety reasons.
Wishing you and your families a happy Christmas.
