From the 12th to the 16th of March we at Beaufort celebrated “Friendship Week” to try tackle the issue of bullying. There were many activities ran through out the week. Including a singer called Shane Horhan who came into talk to 1st and 2nd years about bullying, particularly cyber-bullying as well as performing some songs.
The 4th years also peer taught 1st -4th years on the importance of tackling cyber-bullying. A small group of 4th years also decorated reception for friendship week, which included fact sheets and “random acts of kindness” for every student to participate in. 5th and 6th years have also been working hard in RSE class learning about friendship and bullying.
“Friendship Week” has helped to highlight the importance of friendship and reminded students any form of bullying is wrong.
