Day two – All roads lead to the domain!
We headed to the acceuil to take up our duties in the wards and on the refectory. We were trained on how to use the chaises and voitures. This new skill was put to the test when we brought our pilgrims to the opening mass at the grotto, celebrated by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin in splendid sunshine. Following the mass, there was a group photo of the whole Pilgrimage on the steps of the Basilica.
After lunch, the pilgrims enjoyed a dramatisation of the stations of the cross. We performed the fourth station, Jesus meets his mother.
The Eucharistic procession into the Underground Basilica was a truly breathtaking experience, as dioceses from all over the world gathered together in prayer.
It was our night to open “prairie”, in which we reflected on the day and on the theme of service. We sang acapella and did Beaufort proud.
Our night ended with a table quiz for all the blue shirt volunteers.
We’re feeling tired but fulfilled after a really rewarding day. We wish the best of luck to the 4th Years as you receive your JC results. You are in our thoughts and prayers!
À demain!
