Congratulations to the Class of 2015 who graduated on Thursday evening. Thank you to the girls and their religion teachers Ms Donohue, Ms O’Reilly, Ms Walsh, Ms McAndrew and music director Ms Cruise for all the hard work they put into the Graduation mass which was enjoyed by all in Rathfarnham Church. The girls had decorated the church with individually made flowers which have had a special request to be kept up for the primary schools communion this weekend. Georgia Gilligans recital of her own poem was especially moving. A fingerprint tree was created to represent each student and used as an alter gift.
Afterwards students, staff and parents were invited back to the hall, where our newly appointed prefects welcomed us with some refreshments.
Ms O’Donoghue opened with a very heartfelt speech. She spoke for the staff and thanked the girls and their parents for all their enthusiasm, support and spirit throughout their years in Beaufort. Her speech was followed by our parent representitive this year Mrs. Murnin. She gave a very warm, moving speech with a great sense of humour and insight.
Katy Ryan was our valedictorian speaker and spoke so eloquently at the end of the night on behalf of the girls. She finished with a very appropriate poem for the occasion written by a volunteer she met on her trip to Lourdes called ‘The Dash’.
Good luck to a fabulous year group. We will miss your wonderful smiles, your spirit and support. We have enjoyed teaching and watching you grow. We are very proud of you all and wish you every happiness. Make sure to come back and visit us for a coffee in the staff room.
