Holocaust Memorial Day

in News

Holocaust Memorial Day is a day dedicated to the rememberance of those who suffered in the Holocaust. We remember and honour the millions killed in the Holocaust and mark the 70th Anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz- Birkenau. The theme for this year is “keep the memory alive.” It is vital that we all remember and reflect upon the horrors of the past and honour those who survived. On Holocaust Memorial Day we remember for a purpose, we learn from the past and consider how we can help build a better future.
We condemn the evils of prejudice, discrimination and racism. We value a free, tolerant and democratic society. We value the sacrifices of those who have risked their lives to protect or rescue victims, as a touchstone of the human capacity for good in the face of evil.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our Jewish neighbours, friends and local community at this time.
