On Friday the 28th of December, Mrs O’Reilly’s 5th Year Religion class visited the Chester Beatty library as part of our R.E. programme. The museum houses the collection of Sir Alfred Chester Beatty, who collected scripts, artworks, tomes and artefacts from a variety of ancient traditions during his lifetime. As we are currently studying Islam, the library’s permanent exhibition on the major world religions provided invaluable to our insight into this fast-growing Abrahamic faith system. Thank you to Mrs O’Reilly for organising the trip; we really enjoyed the day!
