On Thursday the 13th of November, the sixth years held a mobile phone fast in aid of Childline’s 24 hour emergency appeal. 100 girls took part from Beaufort an we even managed to get the sixth years of The High School in Rathgar involved too! None of us used any social networking sites either, all communication was forbidden! Girls went around with buckets at lunchtime and we held a raffle too. Overall from our day we raised €740. From only collecting for two days around the school, we think it’s a pretty astonishing amount to get from the left over change in people’s pockets!! We also encouraged people to text by Childline to 57911 by advertising it on social media. It was a fantastic success!
