Ms. O’Higgins, Guidance Counsellor accompanied seven girls from Beaufort to a women in engineering career seminar in the Printworks Conference Centre, Dublin Castle on Wednesday 8th October. Julie McGarrigle,Emma Newe,Rose McAuliffe,Sara Cali,Ellen Tighe,Rebecca Meagher & Aoife Barnes.
245 students from 29 schools all around Ireland participated.The goal of the event was to encourage girls to consider engineering as a viable career choice. There were career talks with female engineers, round table discussions and networking opportunities.
