Saturday 4th October the Jewish Community celebrate Yom Kippur.
Yom Kippur is the holiest day in the Jewish Year. Yum Kippur is the day when Jewish people fast and pray. It is a reminder to be faithful to God and to do good in the year ahead. We are thinking about our Jewish neighbours at this very important time in the life of the Jewish community.
Saturday 4th October the Muslim Community celebrate Eid-ul-Adha.
This festival is celebrated at the end of Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca. It is a festival recalling Abraham’s willingness to obey the will of God. Muslim people reflect on the story of Abraham and on their willingness to give up everything for Allah. We are thinking about our Muslim students and their families at this special time.
