Lourdes Blog: Day 2

in News

Day two began with not only Our Lady’s birthday but also Rua’s! First day on the wards and we quickly got settled in. We trained in using the voitures and chaises and then skilfully brought the pilgrims to our first liturgy, a mass celebrated by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin in the grotto. After lunch, we experienced one of the major aspects of Lourdes. The baths. It was a very personal experience which affected us all differently. Indescribable.

After the baths we brought the pilgrims to the underground basilica to the Eucharistic procession.
We’re kept busy all day. Some of us are faced with more difficult challenges but none the less were all their for each other. Before prairie, there was a spontaneous sing song with all the pilgrims on the wards. After prairie there was table quiz in a local hotel for all the blueshirts where we mingled and got to know everyone. We’re tired and exhausted but we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
