We waited in anticipation for our first outing of 4th Year on the 6th of September. We were delighted when Ms. Murphy announced that we would be going to Dundrum cinema to see Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters to kick-start our learning in Classical Studies. Everyone was really enthusiastic to learn about Classics in a modern way. At 12:15 we departed from the school gates and made our way to the bus stop. After a short bus journey, the excited class poured out of the bus and into Dundrum. The start of the film quickly quietened our giddy group and immediately caught our attention. The film had a large focus on Greek deities and legends, which we could later relate to our Classics novel. It was a great way to dive into the world of Ancient Greece and whetted our appetite to learn more. The film was thoroughly enjoyable, exciting, action-packed and informative.
We would like to thank Ms. Murphy for this opportunity of a wonderful day out, and we look forward to the year ahead in Room 29.
