The BT Young Scientist Exhibition received a record number of entries this year. There were 1,743 ideas entered by 3,842 students from 32 counties. Competition to make it to the RDS this year was particularly high, with judges remarking on the impressive nature of entries. There were 550 finalists. Congratulations on your fantastic projects girls. Well done.
Claire Behan Reports on the Young Scientist 2012:
At the start of the year we were told that we would be entering the BT young sceintist and that we had to come up with a idea for a project. I came up with the idea of creating a pair of glasses that would see wet paint on a wall. I found my project interesting and really enjoyed working on it. Within 4 weeks I found that I had been accepted to the finals of the Young Scientist. I was overwhelmed with excitement and couldn’t wait for the competition to begin. When I was at the RDS I didn’t think that it would be as much fun as it was. They had loads of entertainment and I learned lots of interesting facts about science. There was loads of free stuff as well. I really enjoyed my week in the RDS and it is a week of memorys I will never forget and I hope to do it again in the future.
