Congratulations to all prizewinners and to all the students in Beaufort who showed fantastic spirit and friendship at the awards ceremony. It was wonderful to see the joy on the faces of our prizewinners but it was even more special to see and hear the reactions of their friends. Our guest speaker Fergus Finlay of Barnardos spoke to the students about the value of friendship. Ms O Donoghue presented Mr Finlay with a cheque for Barnardos and a tie! On 9 September 2010 Mr Finlay announced that he will seek the Labour Party nomination to contest the 2011 Presidential election. On 17th May 2011 Mr Finlay announced that he will wear the tie presented to him in Beaufort if his nomination is successful. Watch this space…..:)
