Loreto Beaufort Stamp Out Cancer Hike 2010

in News

Get your walking shoes ready and keep Sunday 10th October free. Our Sixth Years with Ms Dunne are organising a “Stamp Out Cancer Hike” in association with the Irish Cancer Society. The walk will start at 10am from the public car park at Marlay Park. It should take 5-6 hours to complete. The hike will cover 10 miles of the Wicklow Way and we have four instructors from EcoAdventure Ireland leading the way.

EcoAdventure have advised us that proper footwear is most important. Hiking boots and not runners are preferable. Those prone to blisters should bring proper blister plasters. Water proof warm clothing should be worn by all. Everyone should have a fully charged mobile phone. The route is very well marked though so no one should be getting lost! Don’t forget a packed lunch and good humour!

Everybody is welcome to join us. It is for a wonderful cause that so many of us have been touched by and it will be a great opportunity to mix and get to know each other outside of school time. (Your dogs will love the exercise too!!)

The hike is less than two weeks away so if you still need a sponsorship card please let Ms Dunne know!
