Pakistan Day

in News

The school was awash with green posters, balloons and flags today as Beaufort students and staff showed their support for Pakistan. Severe flooding has caused havoc in Pakistan and over 20 million people have been affected. The whole school were asked to contribute €2 towards a non-uniform day. First Years made fantastic posters, which were exhibited around the school. 3T organised a lunch time cake sale, where over €600 was raised. Third Year CSPE classes are following Concern, Trocaire and Goal websites and keeping up to date with various blogs and reports from aid workers working in Pakistan. First Year Irish students spoke about Pakistan ‘as Gaeilge’ and will be working on ‘Lá Phacastáin’ projects over the weekend. The Justice and Peace Committee prepared a Pakistan Awarness power point presentation, which was displayed in the hall at lunchtime and attracted huge interest. Thank you to all the students who were actively involved in today’s preparation and of course, a big thank you to the whole school community, who as always contributed so generously and added to the wonderful school spirit of Beaufort.
