Niall Mellon Township Trust

in News

Well done to the twelve transition year students, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Hogan and Ms. O’Brien who went to Africa last week with the Niall Mellon Township Trust.

We’re all really proud of you and the amazing work you have done building homes for people in South Africa.

Thank you so much to our school community for all your support. It would not have been possible for the girls to go on this life changing journey without you all.

The following is a lovely letter from the foreman on the site Mr. Padraic O’Connor:

Now that we are all settled back after our ”Building Blitz” in the township of Wallacedene, Capetown, S.A., I, having acted as foreman on the Maroon Team would just like to let your school know what a wonderful group of ambassadors traveled to Capetown to take part in the blitz.I had the pleasure in working with Sandra (teacher),Kate,Emily,Robyn and Robyn. They are a credit to their families,to their teachers,to your school and to their country. They were a joy to work with and we were all so proud of them.Well done girls.

Padraic O’ Connor.

Here are some photos of their experiences:

More photos welcome – please give them to Ms. Bowe on USB key.

Let Niall Mellon and three of our transition year students tell you all about it on TV3.

Or read a more detailed article about how our pupils helped to bring positive change to peoples lives.
