Green Travel Poster Competition

in News

Today we announced the winners of walk to school month.

Three girls won 20 euro vouchers for Dundrum. Eight first and second years received pencil cases made from recycled materials for their fantastic art work.

The posters will be laminated and hung up on the Green notice board. You can see the results of the Walk to School month in a graph format on the Green notice board.

Green Schools will visit us next Wednesday to give a workshop to all the Green Captains. Please can all Green Captains fill out the surveys and bring them with you to the workshop with a pen and some paper to take notes. If you need a survey ask Ms. Bowe or Ms. Dunne for one.

A special thank you to our local Gardaí for all their help in making our school safer for all road users and school children of the area. And also a big thank you to Kathryon from An Taisce – Green Schools, for coming into the school and giving the workshops to us. They really helped us to get organised and gave us ideas on what we could do to raise awarness about Green Travel.

Also thank you so much to 2T, 2P and 2S for helping to make this Green Travel Campaign a great success. We will continue this campaign over this academic year.

Thank you all for participating in Walk to School Month and keep up the good work.

Every Wednesday we will have a Walk On Wednesday (WOW) until Christmas.

Remember everything you do to help the environment really does make a difference.

From, Caroline Devlin (on behave of the Green Committee)
