The Debating Society meets at lunchtime in Room 1. At times these sessions are informal with lively discussion on current affairs or topics of interest. Sometimes formal debates are held – other times these are training sessions with debating coach Ms. Hogan assisted by senior debating students. Many competitions are entered during the year, including Inter-Loreto, Leinsters, T.C.D and U.C.D Mace at junior and senior levels.

Debating is beneficial on so many levels for our girls; developing their articulacy, self-confidence, public speaking skills and general knowledge of current affairs/ philosophical topics. Most importantly it is great fun!
