Also goood luck to the Senior A basketball team who are playing in the All Irelands this weekend in Kerry.

Each girl spoke from their heart and all who were present in the Teresa Ball Auditorium were very impressed. Ms. Beausang from the Dublin Diocesan Lourdes Provincial Council was invited to attended to hear the girls  experience. She was very grateful for the invite and said “I thought they did a superb job and captured the spirit of the week inLourdesvery well. It was lovely to see that it had been such a positive influence on all aspects of their lives”.

Two of the five girls that travelled to Lourdes the first time with Ms. Donohue were also present. Four of the five girls that travelled to Lourdes in 2010 for the first time, returned to volunteer in September 2011 as independent volunteers.  They are planning to return again for the third time in September 2012. May God bless all the work they complete.

 The five girls that will travel in September 2012 were also present at the presentation. We in Beaufort are very proud of the Dublin Diocesean  Pilgrimage to Lourdes Tradition.

The girls entered into the retreat very willingly, and the retreat team hosting the retreat complimented the girls highly on their enthusiasm and spirit! A lot of the girls did not know what to expect- but they were pleasantly surprised. Belowing are some quotes from the girls refelction when they came home.

“ I really enjoyed the mass which our whole year group attended. It was very interesting and I listened  to the priest and what he was saying”

“  My favourite part of the day was getting to write a letter to God. I felt this was a good thing to do as it let me get things off your chest”

“ I liked the two workshops we had with Nicola and Helen because in Helen’s workshop I enjoyed writing the letter to God, in Nicolas workshop I liked getting the little slip of paper with the message from scripture. I also enjoyed learning about how the people lived at the time of the apparition in the museum.”

“I enjoyed listening to the bible extracts, because it made me feel very peaceful”

“ I would recommend this retreat to next years third years as I felt it was a good way to bond with my friends and others in the year. It is also a good way to take a break from worrying about exams”

Mary very kindly donated two hardback copies of the American edition of her book, which is called Belladonna in the U.S. and these were raffled on the spot.  The two lucky winners of the books are:- Aoife McEnaney and Chloe Cousins.

Claire Behan Reports on the Young Scientist 2012:

At the start of the year we were told that we would be entering the BT young sceintist and that we had to come up with a idea for a project. I came up with the idea of creating a pair of glasses that would see wet paint on a wall. I found my project interesting and really enjoyed working on it. Within 4 weeks I found that I had been accepted to the finals of the Young Scientist. I was overwhelmed with excitement and couldn’t wait for the competition to begin. When I was at the RDS I didn’t think that it would be as much fun as it was. They had loads of entertainment and I learned lots of interesting facts about science. There was loads of free stuff as well. I really enjoyed my week in the RDS and it is a week of memorys I will never forget and I hope to do it again in the future.
