Green News πŸšΆπŸΏπŸ›πŸ•ΈπŸΈπŸ

The Green Committee and our TY environmentalists have been keeping busy this week. We met again on Tuesday and were delighted to welcome more keen members. All our committee members were presented with Green Captain badges so congratulations to all. This week at our meeting we focused on Green Week ( 9th October -14th October) event planning. The students have come up with some great ideas for activities and we can’t wait to see everyone getting involved and at the same time raising awareness. Β Our TY environmentalists continued to work on our noticeboard and habitat map and all will be revealed next werk just in time for Green Week.

On Thursday we walked to St Enda’s and met Martina in the nature room. She spoke to us about the importance of all the elements that make up biodiversity and Eddie, St Enda’s gardener and bee keeper, gave us a really interesting talk about the life of bees 🐝 Our plan to educate the whole school about bees and the importance of biodiversity is really coming together as we learn more and more ourselves and we’d like to thank Martina and Eddie for sharing their knowledge and just generally showing such an interest in our work and plans. They’ll be visiting the school soon to help us identify all our plants, trees and flowers 🌾🌳🌺.
